Dijon, labeled City of Art and History in 2009, offers Le 1204, the architecture and heritage interpretation center, which will be located within the Cité internationale de la gastronomie et du vin, inaugurated in May 2022.
This new cultural space, whose objective is to explain the architectural and urban history of the city and to present the heritages that make up its identity, is a place of information, education and encounters.
We have deployed an augmented reality solution on a tablet linked to the exhibition route called “A city, stories”. The purpose of this device is to propose an approach centered on the habitat and the ways of living in Dijon over the centuries. The chronological period chosen extends from the Middle Ages to the 20th century with four models:
A medieval timber-framed house
A private mansion from the modern era
A building from the late 19th century
A large complex from the second half of the 20th century.
Conception and realization of augmented reality applications proposing to the visitors to “scan” the different models with a tablet (IPAD), and thus to reach points of interest proposing complementary contents to him.
This augmented discovery of the buildings (color rendering, perception of constituent materials, in particular) also allows the visitor to discover the fictional life story of an inhabitant of the building.
