Exhibition « Features of Egypt », Marcelle Baud
Musée Bargoin Clermont-Ferrand
Located in a neoclassical building inaugurated in 1903 in the heart of the city of Clermont-Ferrand, the Bargoin Museum offers particularly rich and original collections. It houses two departments: Archaeology and Textiles. The exhibition “Traits d’Égypte” highlights the career of Marcelle Baud, an Auvergne-born Parisian lady who became an Egyptologist in the 1920s. It invites visitors to discover the career and personality of one of the rare female Egyptologists of the early 20th century, whose name has been almost forgotten in the history of the discipline.
