Writing, adaptation and outreach of contents
In the design phase, once the principles of mediation have been established and the content analyzed, we imagine the devices. The initial step is to appropriate the content as well as possible in order to extract the essential and what will be transmitted to the visitor/user. The adaptation work takes into account several factors:
- qualification of the subject,
- historical/patrimonial/scientific validity of the themes and contents,
- taking into account the target audience (nature of the discourse, but also accessibility)
- formalization of the media (assistance in the choice of typography, size and color, according to the general charter and the media and themes addressed).
The editorial work takes into account a global logic, i.e. it develops a coherence between the messages and the contents of all the supports. On the basis of the first elements of definition of each program (duration, messages, envisaged structure, etc.), we produce a preliminary document which must allow to :
- consider an initial reading of the mediation objectives,
- identify the didactic stakes of each program with regard to the target audiences,
- define the material constraints of diffusion,
- place the programs in their respective scenographic environment.
Taking into account the type of device (audiovisual, multimedia, interactive or not, etc.) and the target audience (schoolchildren, disabled people or foreigners, etc.), we establish an editorial charter that gives direction to the final writing and formalization. Whether it is a dialogue, an explanatory animation, or object labels, we standardize and take care to choose the appropriate words, expressions and stylistic effects. Based on existing content and initial intentions, we will propose narrative intentions by integrating into our team a department dedicated to the scripting and writing of cultural, scientific and technical content.
For us, adaptation also includes foreign audiences, for which we have developed quality partnerships with service providers specialized in translation and multilingual subtitling. Similarly, for accessibility, we are aware of the principles governing the adaptation of content according to the rules of the art for most types of disabilities (hearing, visual, etc.). We work with professionals who have expertise in tour devices for the visually or hearing impaired, audioguides or tactile manipulation. Thus, a project can have a wide scope to reach all possible audiences.
