Interpretation Center of the Abbey of Escaladieu

As daughter of the Cistercian abbey of Morimond, the Escaladieu abbey was founded around 1140 at the confluence of the Arros and Luz rivers. The architecture of the Escaladieu is in perfect harmony with the precepts of the order: simplicity and sobriety. The magic of the place and the purity of the architecture are an invitation to serenity and travel. Since 2010, the Abbey of Escaladieu coordinates the “European Route of Cistercian Abbeys”. Its Interpretation Centre is now part of the digital era, with a multimedia cultural space on the knowledge and state of the art of the abbey
