AfricaMuseum

AfricaMuseum localisation du projet Tervuren

The Museum was built in 1897, during the Brussels World Exhibition in Tervuren. More than a century later, important transformation works were carried out, including the renovation of the building and the updating of the scenography. At the end of 2018, the museum was renamed “AfricaMuseum” and reopened to the public in its new formula, in a modernized state of mind and with a perspective oriented towards the 21 st century.

Our role:

Anamnesia was in charge of the design and production of the audiovisual and multimedia content, as well as the multimedia graphic charter. Our team also developed and implemented a content management system (CMS), designed to offer the museum the update and creation of content for the hundred or so screens along the tour route. We conducted interviews with the Congolese diaspora in Belgium, filmed artistic performances, edited existing films… Without forgetting, an interactive timeline, playful multimedia applications as well as interactive cartels. So many tools that allow a deeper understanding of Belgian colonial history in Central Africa.
